Factory-treated wood is typically yellow pine, which is also resistant to rot, mold formation, and insects. The protective layer added in the factory makes the wood waterproof, but a protective varnish should be added every few years.
It should be noted that the lifespan of a treated wood patio is 15 to 20 years, while a cedar patio with a treated wood structure lasts 25 years or more.
